Wedding - WOW!

Our wedding was amazing. Truly amazing. I’m in awe at how it went. I had been coaching Marisa as late as the day before that “nothing is perfect” but that we can make the most of it make and our own perfection out of what we are given. From the TV show “Who’s wedding is it any way” to friends stories, to plain an simple urban legends about Bridezillas I knew that preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best was the smart thing to do.

I couldn’t have been further from the truth. To the positive. There were no more than 3 glitches that really had no bearing on how the day went. A faux pa with Marisa’s hair dresser leading to Marisa doing her own hair, which looked great. A salad issue, which apart from us knowing how nice the one we ordered would have been and being disapointed with the OK salad, no one else was any the wiser (apart from the fact I called attention to it in my speech/toast), and 3 rouge RSVPs (one sick friend, one stranded in Denver, and one who's gone totally AWOL!). That was it for the ‘bad’!

So, all in all not only did evenything go off without a hitch (so to speak ;)) everything went together perfectly. In no small part due to my wife’s outstanding planning abilities. I apeared to be more involved than many husbands seem to be, as I was told. But don’t be fooled. It was all down to Marisa!

The way everyting fit together really was beautiful. As someone commented, a lovley blend of traditional and modern. With a ceremony in a beautiful outdoor setting a bluff atop a cliff overlooking the vastness of the pacific ocean. Whales played just off shore as we bonded two families together and the sun beat down a beuty and clarity into a pleasently warm ambiance. The music from the guitarist as delicate and soothing as the early autumn breeze.

Followed by a reception started with wonderfuly touching speeches and good food, lubricated with fine drinks, excellent music and of course the crowning addition which really made the day (after M’s planning) was the love of our family and friends. I won’t list you all off here, but you all deserve it.

The photos on the beach were a hoot, and came out wonderfuly, and the rounding off the evening in the resort bar brought to end a day that no one wanted to end.

I knew it would be a day we’d remember forever but it really was that on a level that I never expected. I’ve never had that much fun and experienced that much love on one day. Thank you to all who made it and made it what it was, and will be in our hearts forever. To those who were unable to make it; we wish you could have been there and look forwards to telling you all about it.

I wish for everyone to enjoy their wedding as much as we did ours!
