Honeymoon Vendor: Alamo Rent A Car
After 30+ hrs of traveling, lack of vendor communication, slow lines, and poor staff attitude mean we’ll not be using Alamo again. We arrived in SFO after a long haul, without the ability to ‘check in online’. Most other people in the queue had also booked and like us has provided Alamo with flight details in advance. We waited in line for a full hr with ~30 other renters. 3 groups were [partially] served in this time. When asking the two rental counter staff by name as to what was taking so long (as politely as possible) a cold shrug and walk away was the response. For $30 more we chose to go with Avis who had us through the line and behind the wheel all in under 10 min. National who are “the same company” as Alamo had similar issues. The main cause of the problem appeared to be a large group whom the staff were having trouble servicing. However this still was a very poor, and avoidable experience. NB: A family member had trouble with Alamo only 2 weeks prior at the same airport.
