Wedding "Vendor" - Officiant
Oh my! I forgot to post this! Eileen was our officiant. Click the title to go to her web page. She was absolutely fabulous... Her "breathing" technique to relax us both, mid-ceremony seemed a bit 'funny' before you were standing up there forgetting to breath, then it seemed like a heavenly voice guiding you to a very safe place - said Matthew exaggerating*. Any way, it was very helpful. As was Eileen. Long story short she was wonderful and we really appreciated her!*I've NEVER been known to do that ;-)

Scrybe - New Start Up
I'm constantly trying to find better ways to organize my time and my brain. My creative mind is powerful (I'm so humble) but with all those ideas and task switching I'm always in danger of loosing efficiencies. I use a combination of Outlook and MindJet Mind Manager currently to shape my To Do list(s) and my time. I have been using Google Calendar more and more. I love things that are online. And its nice to see the web maturing to where the visionaries of 'web apps' in the mid '90s placed it.So what about an online (AND OFFLINE!) calendar/organizer application, beautifully designed with some very cool functionality? A new start up Scrybe is getting ready to launch along with its flagship product. The YouTube video below gives you a sneak peak!

Wedding - WOW!
Our wedding was amazing. Truly amazing. I’m in awe at how it went. I had been coaching Marisa as late as the day before that “nothing is perfect” but that we can make the most of it make and our own perfection out of what we are given. From the TV show “Who’s wedding is it any way” to friends stories, to plain an simple urban legends about Bridezillas I knew that preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best was the smart thing to do.
I couldn’t have been further from the truth. To the positive. There were no more than 3 glitches that really had no bearing on how the day went. A faux pa with Marisa’s hair dresser leading to Marisa doing her own hair, which looked great. A salad issue, which apart from us knowing how nice the one we ordered would have been and being disapointed with the OK salad, no one else was any the wiser (apart from the fact I called attention to it in my speech/toast), and 3 rouge RSVPs (one sick friend, one stranded in Denver, and one who's gone totally AWOL!). That was it for the ‘bad’!
So, all in all not only did evenything go off without a hitch (so to speak ;)) everything went together perfectly. In no small part due to my wife’s outstanding planning abilities. I apeared to be more involved than many husbands seem to be, as I was told. But don’t be fooled. It was all down to Marisa!
The way everyting fit together really was beautiful. As someone commented, a lovley blend of traditional and modern. With a ceremony in a beautiful outdoor setting a bluff atop a cliff overlooking the vastness of the pacific ocean. Whales played just off shore as we bonded two families together and the sun beat down a beuty and clarity into a pleasently warm ambiance. The music from the guitarist as delicate and soothing as the early autumn breeze.
Followed by a reception started with wonderfuly touching speeches and good food, lubricated with fine drinks, excellent music and of course the crowning addition which really made the day (after M’s planning) was the love of our family and friends. I won’t list you all off here, but you all deserve it.
The photos on the beach were a hoot, and came out wonderfuly, and the rounding off the evening in the resort bar brought to end a day that no one wanted to end.
I knew it would be a day we’d remember forever but it really was that on a level that I never expected. I’ve never had that much fun and experienced that much love on one day. Thank you to all who made it and made it what it was, and will be in our hearts forever. To those who were unable to make it; we wish you could have been there and look forwards to telling you all about it.
I wish for everyone to enjoy their wedding as much as we did ours!

Honeymoon Vendor: Alamo Rent A Car
After 30+ hrs of traveling, lack of vendor communication, slow lines, and poor staff attitude mean we’ll not be usingHoneymoon Vendor: United Airlines
Decrease in service. Poor customer focus. Rewards not enough to keep me flying. Due to less business travel this year it doesn’t look like I’ll make the base level of Premier membership with United and I don’t think I’ll be planning my future frequent travel with them. I’ve become less and less impressed with the quality of service on the planes. Much of the time it seems like the staff are not even happy with each other, let alone the customer. I always strive to be positive and helpful (my nature) and even so have felt offended and “put out” by the flight staff on many occasions. Maybe its because they are in receivership? Either way they are not happy and not focused on the customer. The rewards system is well constructed but if the main experience with the company is poor a good rewards system doesn’t matter. (NB: Comments primarily on SFO – LHR route. But also on ~10 domestic US flights in past 12 months. Flown apprx. 150K mi with United in past 18 months.
Honeymoon Vendor: Air New Zealand
Impeccable staff, free alcoholic drinks, & clean (if not older) planes. We flex LAX – Nadi (
Wedding Vendor: Location; Seascape, Aptos, CA
The wedding team did a very good job of ensuring our ceremony went smoothly. The only [technically minor, but annoying to us] problem with the salads was compensated for. The staff were pleasant. We did have some issues with timeliness in the planning stages with the wedding team when communicating by Email and on the phone, if you use them you may need to chase up. The location was absolutely beautiful. The site was well kept and clean. Many of our party, including us, had issues with the service and room service staff. A general level of apathy and slowness in what appeared to be a very young average age. If Seascape improve this then they would have scored almost perfect marks. We would recommend having a wedding at Seascape.
Wedding Vendor: Ceremony Guitarist
We hired the flamenco and classical guitarist Eric Jarmie for our ceremony and will never regret the decision. Eric was fantastic. His guitar work was beautiful. From delicate to emotional he really did a fantastic job for us. We can’t praise him highly enough. When Marisa walked down the isle we chose Pachelbel's Canon in D Major, it was sublime. An emotional piece at the best/worst of times. Eric pulled it off with uncompromising integrity, it truly was beautiful.
Wedding Vendor: Photographer
We hired Craig W Smith. He was professional, and unobtrusive. Generally results were good with some excellent shots. Some of the group shots had a little too much dead space. He was nice and personal, as was Judd his 2nd photographer. It should be noted that some of the photos were excellent.
Wedding Vendor: The Desotos
The band were fantastic. Fun, interactive and really helped drive the celebratory atmosphere of our wedding. Would certainly recommend! Although pronouncing my (our) surname was off! Naughty! Not a single person was left sitting and the dance floor was packed! Booked through the SF Booking Agency.
